Morocco said, Monday in Geneva, that it is committed to strengthening the rights and economic empowerment of women. Speaking during the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, highlighted Morocco's commitment to consolidating women's rights, through the revision of the Family Code, and the promotion of women's economic empowerment.

The minister, who led the Moroccan delegation to this event, stressed Morocco's will to fighting against hate speech and violent extremism and consolidating the values of peace, tolerance and coexistence.

As part of this high-level meeting, Morocco presented a common commitment with Paraguay and Portugal to facilitate the institutionalization of cooperation, dialogue and the exchange of expertise and experience, via the establishment of an international network of these national mechanisms in 2024.

This high-level international meeting, whose program includes various sessions and round tables, aims to strengthen the global consensus on the universality of these rights, to design a vision of human rights for the next 25 years and to highlight the achievements obtained since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
