Do you like to get involved into another culture, be active in a way which contributes to the Moroccan society and do you like to meet people from all over ...the world? If yes, become a volunteer for ACAVS in, July or August 2010 or during the year as individual volunteer. What can you offer us? - You can teach English or French to Moroccan children, youth or adults, organize activities for Moroccan children or paint schools. What can we offer you? We offer food and accommodation, organize an introduction before the start of the projects, offer several excursions during the weekends . ACAVS is a local non profit organization and by participating in one of our projects you will support educational, social and cultural development in the region and will have the opportunity to be integrated into the Moroccan community and culture together with volunteers from different backgrounds, (up to 25 different nationalities). You will have to work 4 hours a day so you have time to do other activities . The weekends are reserved for excursions.
Highlights ACAVS is a youth and non-profit making organization , situated in Errachidia, a city in the South-East of Morocco in the border area of the Middle Atlas mountains and the Sahara. ACAVS organises volunteer work in Morocco,mostly in the south east part of the country and in the summer period. ACAVS is founded by a group of young Moroccans having in mind the following goals: To bring under attention the poverty which is reality for a lot of people in the area and to create a common understanding amongst different cultures in the world. To support educational, social and cultural projects in the region which can hardly be realized without the aid of volunteers . To favor and promote international youth exchanges, through the means of voluntary service, regardless of social, racial or religious background to develop personal commitment in a group or individual activity. Our association organize and arrange international Work camps in the region. Qualifications Everyone who:
* is strongly motivated to do volunteer work · wants to explore other cultures. * is prepared to explain things about his/ her own culture. * has the minimum age of 18 years old and less than 40. * knows enough English to make herself/ himself understood in everyday situations since English is the common language for a workcamp. * enjoys living in a group situation and is interested in getting to know different people. * is not fussy and satisfied with simple accommodation. * shares his/ her opinion but respects other opinions, too. * helps to make the workcamp a good experience for everyone.
