Rabat - Morocco's initiatives in integrating its expatriates living in the Netherlands are "very interesting" and "viable," notably those relating to dialogue and cultural exchange, Dutch Justice Minister, Ernst Hirsch Ballin, said here on Tuesday.

Ballin made the remarks at the end of a meeting with Moroccan Minister in charge of the Moroccan Community Living Abroad, Mohamed Ameur.

"My colleague informed me of the very interesting and viable initiatives relating to dialogue and cultural exchange, that could be used as a source of inspiration for a common future on the basis of common values, such as tolerance and mutual respect," Balin told reporters at the end of the meeting.

He expressed satisfaction of "the positive contribution of the Moroccan expatriates living in the Netherlands to the Dutch society."

For his part, Ameur noted that the two parties "share common views on many issues, notably the situation of Moroccan expatriates in the Netherlands, the integration of this community in the host country and the deepening of ties with the country of origin."

The two officials agreed on the importance of culture as a key element to integration in the host country and voiced will to promote bilateral relations and carry out many projects for Moroccan expatriates living in the Netherlands, he added.
