27.31.أَلَّا تَعْلُوا عَلَيَّ وَأْتُونِي مُسْلِمِينَ

27.31. Ne soyez pas orgueilleux envers moi ! Venez plutôt me faire votre soumission !”«

27.31 . Exalt not yourselves against me , but come unto me as those who surrender .

27.31. Alla taAAloo AAalayya wa/toonee muslimeena

27.32.قَالَتْ يَا أَيُّهَا المَلَأُ أَفْتُونِي فِي أَمْرِي مَا كُنتُ قَاطِعَةً أَمْراً حَتَّى تَشْهَدُونِ

27.32. «Ô dignitaires, ajouta la reine, conseillez-moi dans cette affaire , je ne prendrai aucune décision avant de connaître votre avis.»

27.32 . She said : O chieftains! Pronounce for me in my case . I decide no case till ye are present with me .

27.32. Qalat ya ayyuha almalao aftoonee fee amree ma kuntu qatiAAatan amran hatta tashhadoona

27.33.قَالُوا نَحْنُ أُوْلُوا قُوَّةٍ وَأُولُوا بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ وَالْأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَانظُرِي مَاذَا تَأْمُرِينَ

27.33. – «Nous sommes, répondirent-ils, un peuple fort et d'une puissance redoutable. Mais la décision t'appartient. Vois donc toi-même les ordres que tu veux bien nous donner !»

27.33 . They said : We are lords of might and lords of great prowess , but it is for thee to command ; so consider what thou wilt command .

27.33. Qaloo nahnu oloo quwwatin waoloo ba/sin shadeedin waal-amru ilayki faonthuree matha ta/mureena

27.34.قَالَتْ إِنَّ الْمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُوا قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوا أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِهَا أَذِلَّةً وَكَذَلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ

27.34. – «En vérité, dit-elle, lorsque les rois s'emparent d'une cité, ils y sèment la ruine et asservissent les plus honorables de ses habitants. C'est ainsi qu'habituellement ils se comportent.

27.34 . She said : Lo! kings , when they enter a township , ruin it and make the honor of its people shame . Thus will they do .

27.34. Qalat inna almulooka itha dakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahliha athillatan wakathalika yafAAaloona

27.35.وَإِنِّي مُرْسِلَةٌ إِلَيْهِم بِهَدِيَّةٍ فَنَاظِرَةٌ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ الْمُرْسَلُونَ

27.35. Aussi vais-je leur envoyer un présent et attendre la réponse que me rapporteront les messagers.»

27.35 . But lo! I am going to send a present unto them , and to see with what ( answer ) the messengers return .

27.35. Wa-innee mursilatun ilayhim bihadiyyatin fanathiratun bima yarjiAAu almursaloona
