On her second day in Morocco, US President senior advisor and daughter Ivanka Trump visited an olive field in the city of Sidi Kacem to meet female landowners, as part of Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative, launched earlier this year.

Before making it to Sidi Kacem, Trump wrote on her Twitter account that today, she is traveling to the «rural Gharb region of Morocco to meet with women beneficiaries that will be impacted by implementation of recent land titling reforms», referring to the rural women's land claims movement known locally as Soulaliyat Women.

«Women’s ability to own and manage property is critical to gender equality and economic empowerment», she signaled.

Indeed, in a video posted by French news agency AFP, Ivanka Trump was seen talking to a number of women working at the olive field in the Gharb region. She warmly greeted them and asked them about their activities and objectives.

For the record, Ivanka Trump is visiting Morocco alongside the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, a bilateral United States foreign aid agency, to promote women’s economic development.

One day before landing in Morocco, she wrote on her Twitter that the «recently passed laws» on Soulaliyat «will allow Moroccan women to benefit from the proceeds of collective lands».

«I will continue to advocate for full implementation of these important reforms to ensure gender equity in property rights during our visit to Morocco this week», she promised.

Ivanka Trump’s Morocco visit is her third overseas trip to promote women’s economic development through the initiative launched in February. She promoted the same program during previous trips to sub-Saharan Africa and South America.
