Moroccan international footballer Nordin Amrabat is suffering from a concussion following a head injury he had Friday when playing against the Iranian team, says the Atlas Lions' doctor.

The player, who was sent to a hospital in St. Petersburg, underwent the necessary examinations including a scanner that proved he was feeling good, added Dr. Abderazzak Hifti. The medical team decided to place Amrabat under medical supervision for 24 hours.

«The player is feeling good and there is nothing to worry about. He will have to leave the hospital on Saturday», said the doctor in a video published earlier this Saturday, reassuring Amrabat's fans.

The Dutch-born footballer, however, will miss the training for a week and will not be able to join the Atlas Lions for their second World Cup game on Wednesday.

A video showing Nordin Amrabat receiving slaps in the face after he felt dizzy and confused become viral since Friday. The scene raised questions about how the staff handled the situation.
