Abdallah Lemsagam, a Moroccan football agent based in the United Kingdom, has bought the Oldham Athletic Association, a football club based in the town of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England, reports the BBC Sport.

The takeover has been approved and ratified by the English Football League, after the Lemsagam agreed with Simon Corney, the club’s majority shareholder.

«I am not a billionaire, I am taking it step by step, I am here to work hard for the club, with the coach and everyone», Lemsagam told the same source adding : «This is my a new challenge for me».

Commenting on this purchase, the club issued a statement indicating that «Mr Corney believes that in Mr Lemsagam he has found the right man to take the club forward and one who has the resources, skills and contacts to do so».

Lemsagam, through his company Sport 2JLT, has managed in the past to present several players such as Sulley Muntari, an AC Milan central midfielder, and Afonso Alves who used to play for Middlesbrough.

«We're not dishing out cash left and right. We're here to do good work for the future. I don't want to promise to say I can do things straight away. I am happy to be here, I think I can do something good, it was my dream to be president of a club and now it's come true», concluded the Moroccan national.
