Some of the proverbs that we learnt back home still stand the test of time. I must admit, I forgot a loads of them and would love recall them again. I remember this one that stuck with me till now, it's the equivalent of the famous one with the donkey and ginger :
"when you offer flowers to a donkey...he eats them"

Some are impossible to translate for obvious reasons :

"Li ma 3andou flouss, klamou messouss"
"Darbo ou b'ka, sab3o ou chka"

Also some jewish moroccan ones, imagine them told in that typical slightly fassi accent of our jewish community, it makes them funnier :

"li ma wouldou ma 7en 3lihe"
"d7akt 3la z’man, ou z’man houa li d7’ak 3lia"
"li ma bghitich tchouf ouj'hou fe zan9a, tchouf trr'mtou fel 7ammam" (my favouritetongue sticking out smiley)

those two websites are a real treasure... we should probably start a topic about arabic poetry and see if there is more members who wish to join the club, i know already that Minniemouse loves it...
