It’s being reported that he essentially “went off” on her, allegedly punching her in the face leaving two massive contusions on both sides of her forehead, a split lip and busted, bloody nose. He even allegedly bit the girl!

Apparently, if the more scandalous news outlets are to be believed, this attack grew out of a bitter argument the two singers were having over Brown’s belief that Rihanna infected him with an incurable, sexually transmitted disease - Herpes. This doesn’t excuse Chris Brown’s behavior of course, but again, it does make the discussion more complicated.

These are very disquieting figures. This issue can no longer remain a taboo in the African-American Community, it’s a public health catastrophe that must be tackled immediately. I just feel terrible that two talented young people had to confront the emotional complexities of this epidemic in the public eye. But let me reiterate, it does not excuse Brown’s appalling behavior.
