I gave birth to a child here in Morocco out of wedlock. The father of the child wants nothing to do with me or the child. Kindly advise me what legal steps can I take to at least have the father acknowledge his own child (that's all I care about).

If things are that simple, then any woman could accuse whomever and whoever that a person is the father of her child. A DNA test is a very complicated process in morocco and most labs don't do it for legal purposes.
