40.36.وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَا هَامَانُ ابْنِ لِي صَرْحاً لَّعَلِّي أَبْلُغُ الْأَسْبَابَ

40.36. «Hâmân, dit Pharaon, construis-moi une tour. Peut-être atteindrai-je ainsi les voies

40.36 . And Pharaoh said : O Haman! Build for me a tower that haply I may reach the roads ,

40.36. Waqala firAAawnu ya hamanu ibni lee sarhan laAAallee ablughu al-asbaba

40.37.أَسْبَابَ السَّمَاوَاتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَى إِلَهِ مُوسَى وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُ كَاذِباً وَكَذَلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ وَصُدَّ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ وَمَا كَيْدُ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلَّا فِي تَبَابٍ

40.37. des sphères célestes, de façon à voir le Dieu de Moïse, car je soupçonne celui-ci d'être un menteur !» C'est ainsi que Pharaon, s'illusionnant sur la justesse de ses décisions, fut détourné du droit chemin et ses manœuvres furent vouées à l'échec.

40.37 . The roads of the heavens , and may look upon the God of Moses , though verily I think him a liar . Thus was the evil that he did made fair seeming unto Pharaoh , and he was debarred from the ( right ) way . The plot of Pharaoh ended but in ruin .

40.37. Asbaba alssamawati faattaliAAa ila ilahi moosa wa-innee laathunnuhu kathiban wakathalika zuyyina lifirAAawna soo-o AAamalihi wasudda AAani alssabeeli wama kaydu firAAawna illa fee tababin

40.38.وَقَالَ الَّذِي آمَنَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُونِ أَهْدِكُمْ سَبِيلَ الرَّشَادِ

40.38. Le croyant reprit ses exhortations : «Ô mon peuple ! Suivez-moi, je vous indiquerai la Voie du salut !

40.38 . And he who believed said : O my people! Follow , me . I will show you the way of right conduct .

40.38. Waqala allathee amana ya qawmi ittabiAAooni ahdikum sabeela alrrashadi

40.39.يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا مَتَاعٌ وَإِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ الْقَرَارِ

40.39. Ô mon peuple ! La vie de ce monde n'est que jouissance éphémère. Seule la vie future constitue la demeure éternelle.

40.39 . O my people! Lo! this life of the world is but a passing comfort , and lo! the Hereafter , that is the enduring home .

40.39. Ya qawmi innama hathihi alhayatu alddunya mataAAun wa-inna al-akhirata hiya daru alqarari

40.40.مَنْ عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً فَلَا يُجْزَى إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحاً مِّن ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنثَى وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُوْلَئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ يُرْزَقُونَ فِيهَا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ

40.40. Celui qui commet une mauvaise action ne sera sanctionné que d'une peine équivalente. Mais ceux, hommes ou femmes, qui font le bien en étant croyants auront accès au Paradis où tous leurs désirs seront généreusement comblés.

40.40 . Whoso doeth an ill deed , he will be repaid the like thereof , while whoso doeth right , whether male or female , and is a believer , ( all ) such will enter the Garden , where they will be nourished without stint .

40.40. Man AAamila sayyi-atan fala yujza illa mithlaha waman AAamila salihan min thakarin aw ontha wahuwa mu/minun faola-ika yadkhuloona aljannata yurzaqoona feeha bighayri hisabin
