34.14 . And when We decreed death for him , nothing showed his death to them save a creeping creature of the earth which gnawed away his staff . And when he fell the jinn saw clearly how , if they had known the unseen , they would not have continued in despised toil .

34.14.فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَى مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا دَابَّةُ الْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ الْجِنُّ أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ الْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا فِي الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ

34.14. Et lorsque Nous eûmes décidé sa mort, les djinns ne s'en rendirent compte que grâce aux termites qui avaient rongé la canne qui lui servait d'appui. Et quand il s'écroula, les djinns convinrent que s'ils connaissaient le mystère, ils n'auraient pas continué à exercer aussi longtemps une tâche si avilissante.

34.14. Und als Wir seinen (Salomos) Tod herbeigeführt hatten, da zeigte ihnen nichts seinen Tod an als ein Wurm der Erde, der sein Zepter zerfraß, also gewahrten die Dschinn deutlich, wie er fiel, daß sie, hätten sie das Verborgene gekannt, nicht in schmählicher Pein hätten bleiben müssen.

34.14. Falamma qadayna AAalayhi almawta ma dallahum AAala mawtihi illa dabbatu al-ardi ta/kulu minsaatahu falamma kharra tabayyanati aljinnu an law kanoo yaAAlamoona alghayba ma labithoo fee alAAathabi almuheeni

34.14. Y cuando decretamos su muerte, no tuvieron más indicio de ella que la carcoma, que se puso a roer su cayado. Y, cuando se desplomó, vieron claramente los genios que, si hubieran conocido lo oculto, no habrían permanecido tanto tiempo en el humillante castigo.

34.14. "Quando poi decidemmo che morisse, fu solo la ""bestia della terra"" che li avvertì della sua morte, rosicchiando il suo bastone . Poi, quando cadde, ebbero la prova i dèmoni che se avessero conosciuto l'invisibile, non sarebbero rimasti nel castigo avvilente."

34.14. En toen Wij zijn (Salomo's) dood hadden veroorzaakt, deed niets hen (djinn) zijn dood beseffen, dan een worm der aarde die zijn staf (macht) opvrat en toen die nederviel, bemerkten de dijnn duidelijk, dat, indien zij het onzichtbare gekend hadden, zij niet zolang in een toestand van vernederende kwelling zouden zijn gebleven.
