14.9.أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَالَّذِينَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُهُمْ إِلاَّ اللّهُ جَاءتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرَدُّواْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَقَالُواْ إِنَّا كَفَرْنَا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ وَإِنَّا لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَنَا إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ

14.9. N'avez-vous pas été mis au courant de l'histoire des peuples qui vous ont précédés, du peuple de Noé , de `Âd, de Thamûd et de ceux qui vécurent après eux, et que seul Dieu connaît? Chaque fois que leurs prophètes se présentaient à eux avec des preuves évidentes, ils portaient leurs mains à leur bouche et s'écriaient : «Nous dénions absolument le message que vous êtes chargés de nous transmettre, car nous sommes dans un doute profond au sujet de vos exhortations.»

14.9 . Hath not the history of those before you reached you : the folk of Noah . and ( the tribes of ) Aad and Thamud , and those after them? None save Allah knoweth them . Their messengers came unto them with clear proofs , but they thrust their hands into their mouths , and said : Lo! we disbelieve in that wherewith ye have been sent , and lo! we are in grave doubt concerning that to which ye call us .

14.9. Alam ya/tikum nabao allatheena min qablikum qawmi noohin waAAadin wathamooda waallatheena min baAAdihim la yaAAlamuhum illa Allahu jaat-hum rusuluhum bialbayyinati faraddoo aydiyahum fee afwahihim waqaloo inna kafarna bima orsiltum bihi wa-inna lafee shakkin mimma tadAAoonana ilayhi mureebun

14.9. " ¿No os habéis enterado de lo que pasó a quienes os precedieron: el pueblo de Noé, los aditas, los tamudeos, y los que les sucedieron, que sólo Alá conoce? Vinieron a ellos sus enviados con las pruebas claras, pero llevaron las manos a sus bocas y dijeron: ""No creemos en vuestro mensaje y dudamos seriamente de aquello a que nos invitáis"". "

14.9. Non vi è giunta notizia di quelli [che vissero] prima di voi, del popolo di Noè, degli 'Âd e dei Thamûd, e di quelli che vennero dopo e che Allah solo conosce? Vennero i loro profeti con prove chiarissime, ma essi dissero, portandosi le mani alla bocca : &laqno, Non crediamo in quello con cui siete stati inviati. E siamo in dubbio profondissimo circa quello che ci proponete».

14."9. Zijn de tijdingen niet tot u gekomen van degenen die vóór u waren, het volk van Noach en van Aad en Samoed en degenen (die) na hen (kwamen)? Niemand behalve Allah kent ze. Hun boodschappers kwamen met duidelijke tekenen tot hen, maar zij deden hen zwijgen en zeiden: ""Wij geloven niet in hetgeen, waarmede gij zijt gezonden en wij zijn zeker in twijfel over hetgeen, waartoe gij ons roept."""

14.9. "Kam nicht zu euch die Kunde von jenen, die vor euch waren, von dem Volk Noahs und (den Stämmen) Ad und Thamüd, und von denen, die nach ihnen lebten? Niemand kennt sie außer Allah. Ihre Gesandten kamen zu ihnen mit deutlichen Zeichen, jedoch sie hielten ihnen die Hände vor den Mund und sprachen: ""Wir glauben nicht an das, womit ihr gesandt seid, und wir sind fürwahr in beunruhigendem Zweifel über das, wozu ihr uns auffordert."""
